DHAKA PRIDE | From the Heart of Bangladesh

Dhaka Pride is an annual LGBTQ+ pride festival that takes place online on the first Friday of June, highlighting the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. Dhaka Pride is the only publicly accessible pride event in Bangladesh organized every year by Inclusive Bangladesh.

Due to the legal and social obstacles faced by the LGBTIQ+ community in Bangladesh, Dhaka Pride is not held offline. However, we at Dhaka Pride believe that this is a courageous step towards achieving the visibility and human rights of the LGBTIQ+ community in Bangladesh. 

Dhaka Pride is a significant event for the LGBTIQ+ community in Bangladesh, despite numerous obstacles, because it provides an opportunity for Bangladeshis from all over Bangladesh and the world to come together, express themselves, and raise awareness about LGBTQ+ rights and issues. Initiated on the EQUAL platform, Inclusive Bangladesh is the current host organisation of Dhaka Pride, coordinating this extraordinary event with partner organisations from Bangladesh and international Pride organisations. 

Dhaka Pride is a proud member of Interpride, the International Organisation of Pride Organisers, which promotes human rights and the visibility of Bangladeshi LGBTIQ+ community members worldwide.
